Taking A Break

I really enjoy the blog and I really enjoy the process of writing. I have a notebook of blog post notes that I write in when something comes to mind. Sometimes, the ideas just flow and I will write, or partially write several posts at a time.

I have alot of things that I want to share with you all, such as -- some great pics from Hurricane Irene and a lesson in them too, school is starting this week and I wanted to share with you all that I found my Sabbath!! But I have to be honest with you ... I just do not have the desire to sit at the computer. Life is flowing along very happily for us in the real world but I am feeling like I am neglecting the blog, like I need to be here writing, because there are things on my heart to share, but lately, I just can't bring myself to sit here and write them.

So, I have decided to take a break for a while. I have no idea how long it will last. I was gong to leave you with a picture but I think instead I will share a short video of part of my Sabbath -- it is Zoe and Colin playing in the Atlantic Ocean. When I stand on the shore of the ocean, I am always in awe of how Big God is and how powerful. And He chose me and loves me. On purpose! There just aren't feelings to describe that ...

May the Lord bless you all as you seek to know Him better ~ Shannon

Musical Monday: Give Me Jesus

Today's song is Give Me Jesus as sung by Fernando Ortega.

The picture of this video is not so good but I couldn't find the one that I wanted. The picture doesn't matter anyway because the lyrics are so beautiful! Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

Thankful

it's about 8:30 AM here in Maine and we are awaiting the arrival of Hurricane Irene. It's raining right now but not alot and the wind is light and sporadic. I am not concerned about it really except for the one 100-foot tree next door. If it goes down, it will take the telephone pole with it and probably rip the power lines off of our house and our street will be without power -- without power and with power lines and a tree in the middle of our dead-end street! (It just started to downpour!)

Here is something that I am thankful for this morning: The God of the Universe, the God who controls the wind and the waves, is the same God who hold my fragile heart in His hands! How incredible is that??

And here is something else that I am thankful for this morning: I am thankful for our Military and also that I am not this man guarding the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier today. Say a prayer today for all who are in Irene's path and also for all those who are serving our country -- Matt's brother is in Afghanistan right now.
God Bless and Be Safe ~ Shannon
According to the 3rd U.S. INF Regiment The Old Guard Facebook page, "A lone Tomb Sentinel, 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), walks his tour in humble reverence during Hurricane Irene in Arlington National Cemetery, Va., Aug 27. Members of The Old Guard have guarded the Tomb every second, of every day regardless of weather or holidays since April 6, 1948."
