The Week In Review - A Photo Blog (8-20)

What a great week!!
We had the State Track Meet on Saturday. Colin did great in all of his events and the relay team cut 14 seconds off their qualifying time!!! I am sure that it was because 2 of the 4 boys cut their hair off! (The other two already had short hair.) I didn't manage to get a lot of pics this year - which is odd for me - but here is a good one of Colin crossing the finish line.

And here is the update from Colin's garden. This was the second tomato that we have gotten so he let me have it! It was SO good!! These are supposed to be big tomatoes but for some reason they are turning while they are still small. I'm not sure if it because it has been a dry summer, even though we have watered it. Anyway, the plant is LOADED with tomatoes so we are thrilled!!
On Thursday I took Colin and Zoe to the ocean! We LOVE the ocean!! This was the first time that we have been able to go all summer so we were super excited! This trip has Sabbath written all over it! I will write about that in a day or so. For now, here are a couple of pics :)

And Friday morning , bright and early, I went to hang out with the local Christian radio station's morning show DJ's while I waited in line for tickets to see Third Day and Tenth Avenue North in concert!! WOOHOO!!! (That was for the concert, not the DJ's -- LOL) They were broadcasting live and I even got to be on the radio!

So, how was your week?
I pray you were all blessed by the Greatness of our Lord!
I know I was :)

The Week In Review - A Photo Blog (8-13)

This has been a busy week!

Here is the latest from Colin's garden. These will probably get to be big tomatoes but this one is turning already and it's not big yet. We are thinking that perhaps it's been too dry lately for them to grow bigger? Plus there are about 30 or so on our one plant! YUM!

The track team took their annual trip to the amusement park this week.

Colin came down this one slide and literally sat on top of the water!
And Zoe came down this one backwards!

Then they had the great idea to go on this ride, but they had to make sure they did it before lunch!

Here it is up closer.

And here is Colin pondering going on it. At this point I was starting to feel so sick just from the thought of him going on this ride! But he chose to wait it out on the ground - thankfully!

For some reason, it doesn't bother me at all if Zoe goes on it though...
Here she is with her friend Sam ..

Before...

...And After!

Matt ended up with a schedule change at work this week so we all had an extra day home together. He suggested going somewhere together but since I was still trying to get over the one ride I went on two days before, we opted for a quiet day at home instead.

How was your week?

The Week In Review - A Photo Blog (8-6)

We've had a pretty quiet week. Even so, here's how it went:

This is our first harvest from Colin's garden. We gave the big one to his Nana who inspired him to have a garden and helped him to start it. She was very excited!

This is just a random picture of Zoe from the week.

Colin cut his hair! Last time he cut it, he regretted it afterwards so I really encouraged him to THINK ABOUT IT FIRST!
Nope, he was sure. I think he did it to be faster in running though.

This was from a couple of weeks ago, just to give you a comparison.

This is Oreo :)
We gave him a bath this week. He doesn't mind. Whenever you want to wash your hands, brush your teeth or do the dishes, he is right there trying to get in the water!

He is a CRAZY cat! LOL
This may not be nice but ... This picture TOTALLY cracks me up! LOL

And I have spent a lot of time with these two books this week. That has been really good for me.

It was also Matt's birthday this week (but I didn't get any good pics from it). I am so thankful to God that He blessed my children and I with this man in our lives!! It has made all the difference.
What have you been doing this week? I'd love to hear from you!

May the Lord bless each of you as you seek to know Him better :)

The Week In Review - A Photo Blog (7-23)

This is my niece, Princess Alexis. She turned 5 this week.  She had a very princess-y party!
She loves bumblebees so my mom made her this sweater with bees on it and there was a bee in the pocket :)

This is her big sister, Valerie.

Colin's garden is coming along great! We are looking forward to making our own salsa soon! YUM!
Even Oreo has been hot this week!

These are from my hostas.  I never noticed before how delicate the petals are. They are like a transparent film and you can really see it around the edges.

I love the one with the bee!

Since it's been so hot this week (today was the highest - 98!) we thought we would go to the coast. Maybe it would be cooler. Boy, were we wrong!! Only in one spot did we find that wonderful ocean breeze that we were seeking.

I love this picture of Zoe! She always poses and this was a candid accident shot!!

This was called a 'beach' but it was very rocky and the rocks were very hot on bare feet.
Don't mistake my feelings when I talk about how much I love New Hampshire and the mountains there. I absolutely do love it but being on the coast today reminded me of some of the reasons that I love Maine too. I wish I could bottle the smell of the salt air for all of you land-locked readers!

And I will get back to posting the rest of our vacation to New Hampshire soon :)

I pray you all had a wonderful week as well!

The Week In Review - A Photo Blog

Here are some highlights from this past week :)

This is me with Oreo.

We had a bonfire over the holiday week-end - complete with S'mores!! I did not have a s'more this time. I had birthday cake instead.

These are some random shots that I got in my mother-in-laws backyard. She has the most amazing wild rose bush! If only I could figure out how to bottle that smell!!

Zoe and Colin went to a youth group pool party this week.

This little cutie also showed up at the pool party. I couldn't resist getting some pictures of her!
And we had a storm this week. The sky was so amazing. It was literally half blue and half black!! Our house is toward the blue section but it quickly darkened up.
Have a blessed day everyone!!

The Week In Review ...

There are two words that aptly describe my week: Emotional Roller Coaster! Ok, that was three words. I thought roller coaster was one word but when I typed it out, it looked weird :)

First, I'm thinking that if this spiritual attack I am experiencing gets any worse or even continues at all, I am going to start thinking that it is something ALOT worse -- Menopause!YIKES!!

The Bruins won the Stanley Cup! WOW!! I asked Matt how long it had been since they had won. He said 39 years. Oh, I thought it was longer than that. Then he said, Yeah it was 1972. OH! 1972!! Yes, now I understand how long 39 years is -- my entire lifetime!! LOL again :) This really had nothing to do with my emotions this week, but it was an event that happened and it did make me laugh about the 39 years.

My baby has finished Elementary School! GULP! SNIFF! I have been feeling really sad about this. He's heading off to Middle School. I'm not sure I'm ready for that. Then in the back of my mind I hear 'Don't let your heart be troubled. Trust in God.' (John 14:1) So, I will continue to do my best with him and give the rest over to God. Then we read his report card and God so graciously gave me a New Perspective. It really was a long year. Colin went through several ups and downs. Maybe it is time for a fresh start. He is excited to go to Middle School so that's great. I am now starting to look forward to his new adventures as well.

Zoe had had to write a critical analysis paper for English. She is in Honors English and it is very challenging to get an A from this particular teacher. She worked really hard on this paper and was somewhat stressed about it as it counted for quite a bit of her final grade. She has hovered on the A-/B+ line all semester so she felt a lot of pressure (self-imposed, I might add!) to do well. And she did!! She got a 96 on the paper and a 94 for the final grade in the class. And she got the highest grade in the class on any of the critical analysis's (not sure if that's really a word!) YAY ZOE!!!

Then on Friday at work, one of my dementia friends told me I was beautiful! I kissed her on the cheek. She then proceeded to tell me that she wishes me the best of luck! She hopes I will have a very happy life and that I be very happy!! LOL THAT MADE MY DAY!!

Then today I went to a funeral. It was the husband of my mom's best friend. He was 61 and had pancreatic cancer. It was a really good service. There is a lesson in the funeral that I will write about later in the week, but I just wanted to share the weirdest thing with all of you -- after having such an emotional time over the last several weeks, I wondered if I should even put myself in a position like a funeral. Well, I hardly even cried at all! Only when I hugged the widow and their children. And his parents. That was hard.

So, summer has begun. Baseball will end this week. Track will begin this week. Zoe has set a goal to read 75 books in 75 days. I will keep you posted about that :)
I am continuing to take a lot of pictures in the garden -- if you can call it at *garden* LOL I will post some soon. I hope you all have a blessed day :)
